Review by hotel critic
Review of Boatsheds On the Bay, Waiheke IslandMy recent visit to Boatsheds On the Bay, a scenic retreat on Waiheke Island, was a mixed experience. Although we had booked a family room in one of the charming beachside boatsheds, we were disappointed to find ourselves relocated to a different accommodation uphill. Our sea view was limited to the restroom window, and the noise from the owner's residence above us disrupted our sleep until morning. Nonetheless, the culinary offerings around the island were noteworthy. The aroma of sausages being traditionally roasted on an open beech wood fire from Franco's Bakery immersed us in the local culture, while the nearby Timbuktu Nomadic Deli provided delectable options for lunch. The facilities were clean, with a well-utilized space that included thoughtful touches like plunger coffee and a hidden TV for relaxation. I appreciated the serene location, which served as a lovely hub for our weekend explorations. Despite the initial hiccups, I suggest that culinary enthusiasts visit this area, and with proper communication, the experience could be enjoyable.
